Challenge

Renovating Spokane's original Fire Station No. 9 into a design studio to foster creativity was a welcomed challenge. The owners recognized the unique and classic details of the 1930's fire station and were passionate about preserving its character.

Solution

During the renovation from firehouse to office space, the historic integrity of the fire station was retained, including the brass pole, wooden lockers, maple floors and the call board. The renovation received a Historic Preservation Award from the City of Spokane, and the building is listed on the National and Local Historic Registers. The building has become an iconic example of the firms expertise in uniting the built environment and branding.
